We kicked off December with a particularly intriguing rope-tie match. Expert grappler Syd Blakovich of California was coming to town, and she readily accepted our offer of a competitive bondage wrestling match against local rope-queen VeVe.
Syd had never wrestled with ropes before, but unlike most bondage wrestling newcomers, she did have a very relevant skill set at hand. As a very experienced Brazilian Jiujitsu (BJJ) practitioner, Syd had a wealth of know-how when it comes to grappling with grips involved. She had trained extensively with the gi (the jiujitsu uniform), and that style of grappling relies heavily on grips, binds, and using the uniform as a "tool" to control, off-balance, and even submit the opponent. So, while rope bondage wrestling isn't quite Brazilian Jiujitsu, Syd felt quite comfortable with ropes in her hands.
VeVe knew she was in for a challenge. Though VeVe also practices Brazilian Jiujitsu, Syd outranked her and had a greater technical knowledge of the art. Syd also had a slight size advantage and more fighting experience.
The one ace VeVe had up her sleeve was her specific experience with bondage wrestling itself. VeVe had fought in dozens of bondage wrestling matches over the past 4 years, learning by trial and error, developing a menu of ties based on what works and what doesn't, and frequently contemplating the strategy of rope-placement and tie order. Not to mention constantly practicing knot-tying in a hurry.
It was hard to guess exactly how this one would go. With no time limit, anything was possible. Even the dreaded "Fight Til Eternity" phenomenon, which has driven VeVe and Hanz to the brink of collapse in several of their matches.
And, oh indeed, this one was a lengthy battle. And it did finally end with a completed tie! It was an intriguingly technical bout, with both ladies working the ropes with impressive deftness and agility. Sweeps, turn overs, reversals, all good wrestling involved, as the competitors worked for binds and got creative with their rope placement.

Visiting female wrestler Syd Blakovich pays a visit to our studio, where she has her very first encounter with the art of competitive bondage wrestling! Syd is a skilled jiujitsu practitioner, a tough athlete, and a very experienced grappler. She faces off against rope-wrestling expert VeVe Lane in what proves to be an intense, suspenseful, and challenging bondage match!
Syd is an active and aggressive wrestler, and she takes to the rope-work quite naturally, providing an incredible challenge for VeVe. Both ladies are impressive multi-taskers, constantly attacking each other with rope ties while also wrestling fiercely for position. VeVe responds to Syd's remarkable talent by counter attacking with unconventional ties, locking on single-leg and body ties to impede Syd's progress. But Syd pushes on, lassoing VeVe creatively and posing a constant threat, while also amassing more and more rope on her body from VeVe's methodical efforts.
After a long and absolutely exhausting struggle, VeVe uses the body ties to fight her way toward a double-elbow tie. Her persistence pays off, and she snares Syd with the painful bind. Syd is shocked by the tightness and effectiveness of the bind, suddenly finding herself helpless as VeVe rushes to finish her off. VeVe binds Syd's legs as Syd tries uselessly to free herself. But it is useless indeed; the rope pain renders her totally immobile as VeVe works quickly and binds her into a hogtie.
